UPDATE: 4:47 p.m. Friday, Apr. 9, 2021- Knowa Massey was arraigned in the Butte County Superior Court today.
He was arraigned on five counts including a few special allegations:
Knowa Massey of Oroville
Sale of a controlled substance to a minor (maximum of nine years in county jail)
Selling a controlled substance 1,000 ft. from a school (maximum of two years in county jail)
Selling to minors four years younger than him (maximum of 3 years in county jail)
Alcohol arrests
The number of student DUIs and narcotics charges continues to climb. In March, there were five arrests for disorderly conduct with alcohol, three in possession of narcotics, and one driving under the influence who identify themselves as students. At least 13 people were arrested on suspicion of DUI and 39 arrested for allegedly possessing narcotics.
Ghost gun
The Chico Police department arrested a 21-year-old suspect on the charge of possessing a “ghost gun” on March 20 at approximately 11 p.m.
Police responded to a party complaint at the La Vista Verde Apartments and two officers reported finding a large, unruly crowd.

Seven people were arrested during a search warrant by the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force in Oroville on Thursday.

OROVILLE, Calif. - Seven people were arrested in Oroville when the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on Thursday, the task force said.
The task force, Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit and its Investigation Unit served the warrant at the 700 block of Yuba Ave. in Oroville.
When the task force arrived at the residence, which has a travel trailer in the front, a male and a female tried to escape by climbing out the window and on the roof.
Ten Indicted for Fentanyl Trafficking Details Written by FBI
Sacramento, California - A federal grand jury returned an 11-count indictment against members of a drug trafficking organization, charging them with fentanyl trafficking and other related offenses, United States Attorney McGregor Scott announced.
Jose Lopez-Zamora, 26; Leonardo Flores Beltran, 29; Christian Anthony Romero, 25; Joaquin Sotelo Valdez, 24; Sandro Escobedo, 32; Erika Zamora Rojo, 45; and Alejandro Tello, 22; all of Sacramento; and Jason Lee, 48, of Sparks, Nevada, and Rudi Flores, 27, of Manteca, are charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine as well as either fentanyl distribution or possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. Jose Aguilar Saucedo, 22, of Sacramento, is charged with three counts of fentanyl distribution.

OROVILLE, Calif. – Authorities arrested one man Tuesday after a search warrant revealed a pill lab and an illegal assault weapon.
On Jan. 12, 2021, Detectives from Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) with assistance from Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) served a search warrant on the 1400 block of 21st street in Oroville.
The premise where Alex Herrera, 41, was found in was searched and detectives say they found firearms, one being an illegal assault weapon, a pill press, and items used to produce counterfeit pills like Oxycodone and other miscellaneous pills.
