Forty Pillars ), was approved by shareholders of Origen (the
Origen Shareholders ) at an annual general and special meeting (the
Origen Meeting ) of the Origen Shareholders held Wednesday, May 12, 2021. At the Origen Meeting, a special resolution approving the Arrangement was approved by 99.99% of the votes cast by Origen Shareholders.

Mendicino open to raising PR caps: Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino says he’s open to raising the 90,000-person cap for Canada’s new permanent-residency application program, which opened last week. So far 50,000 people have applied, he said, adding he would see how quickly the 90,000 target is reached, then would be “open to revisiting the caps.”

Questions over AstraZeneca’s future: The future use of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine in Canada is in question due to blood clot concerns, supply issues, and increased supply of alternative shots. First Alberta, and then Ontario, announced they will no longer administer first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Alberta said it was due to supply scarcity, while Ontario cited a rising rate of the rare blood-clotting condition connected to the shot.
