BUTTERWORTH: The 43-year-old man who drove his car against the flow of traffic before grazing an oncoming motorcycle and colliding with an oncoming car is still in a coma.
North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the man was in a coma and they were currently awaiting his blood test results. The passengers in the other car are okay, he said Friday (April 16).
Earlier, it was reported that the accident on Wednesday (April 14) saw four people, including a family of three, rushed to the Seberang Jaya Hospital here with serious injuries following the accident involving three vehicles.
BUTTERWORTH: Six Mat Rempits and two road users, under the influence of alcohol, were arrested during two operations at the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR) here.
Seberang Prai Utara OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the operations dubbed as Ops Samseng Jalanan and Ops Mabuk were conducted from 4pm to 8pm and 10pm to midnight on Saturday (March 6).
“The six teenagers arrested during Ops Samseng Jalanan were between the ages of 16 and 21.
“They were found engaging in dangerous acts like riding in zigzags while competing among themselves from KM8.6 to KM6.4 heading to Prai.
“They were caught when they stopped by a petrol station in Jalan Bagan Luar here, ” he said, adding that the six were detained to facilitate investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
