Vaccine rollout effort continues in Butler County Butler County Times Gazette The Butler County Health Department has been working hard to get shots of a COVID-19 vaccine to the people who need them since vaccines were first released in December. This week the department announced a new effort a Wednesday night clinic. The county s Vaccine Page now has appointment times open for the evening of Wednesday, April 14th at https://coronavirus-vaccine-outreach-bucogis.hub.arcgis.com. As of Monday, however, there were more openings available than expected. We were hoping it would [help reach more people], but as of this morning we only had filled 50 of the 100 slots for Wednesday evening, said Jamie Downs, director of the Butler County Health Department.

Get on the Bus hotline helps Ohio residents get COVID-19 vaccines

The City of Oxford has taken a unique approach to help make sure its eligible residents can get the COVID-19 vaccine. For the past week, the pilot program that Assistant City Manager Jessica Greene refers to as the Get on the Bus Initiative has been an overwhelming success, as hundreds of calls are coming in daily to a hotline set-up by the city to help residents get vaccinated. Since the vaccine started being released, we would get calls in the city manager s office from elderly residents and from those in marginalized communities who were confused or they didn t know how to navigate all of these websites and they just wanted to get the vaccine, Greene said.

MO Lawmakers Advocate For Overlooked Populations In Vaccine Distribution

Missouri lawmakers are advocating for overlooked populations in Missouri’s vaccine distribution plan. Randall Williams, director of the Department of Health and Senior Services, met with the health and mental health policy committee Wednesday evening to evaluate Missouri’s vaccination plan. According to CDC data, Missouri is ranked as the 49th state in vaccine rollout. This CDC data states that 6.1% of Missourians have been vaccinated at least once. Some Missouri representatives argued for more support for constituents in both rural areas and the largest cities, inmates and the elderly. Kimberly Ann-Collins, a Democrat from St. Louis, says focusing on educating and vaccinating the homeless population is important.
