A man suffered a significant injury after being stabbed in a subway.
The victim - who is in his 20s - was walking in the underpass near Sainsbury s in Enderley Street, Newcastle, when he was approached by someone he claimed he did not know.
The incident happened in Comet Avenue, Milehouse

Police are hunting a balaclava-clad knifeman after a street brawl ended in a stabbing.
Officers were called to three men fighting in Comet Avenue, Cross Heath, at around 1.40pm yesterday (May 3).
Witnesses reported seeing one of the men with a kitchen knife.

Police are hunting a motorist who collided with various vehicles on a residential street before fleeing the scene.
The car is reported to have driven up Kings Terrace in Basford at around 5.30am on Friday before colliding with vehicles parked in the neighbourhood.
