Premium Content Subscriber only Two people have been charged and a further two are assisting police following two search warrants allegedly uncovered marijuana plants growing as well as dried leaf and utensils. Gin Gin and South Kolan police raided homes in Wallaville and Gin Gin on Monday. During the raid of the Wallaville house police allegedly found four large marijuana plants growing in a makeshift greenhouse at the rear of the home which were between 2.3m and 3m in height. 1.09kg of dried marijuana was also allegedly found in a cupboard. Further weapon and drug related offences were also uncovered.

A Bundaberg man has been handed a hefty fine for producing drugs in his own fully-equipped green room. Facing the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on four charges Mark Edwin Martin pleaded guilty to unlawfully producing dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana, a pipe which had been used and equipment used in the commission of a crime. Police executed a search warrant at the defendant s property on January 26 about 8am and Martin immediately led them to a granny flat. A total of 15 plants were found inside the dwelling which were being grown in a hydroponic system and multiple clip-seal bags containing 438g of marijuana.

CRACKDOWN: Drivers to face court after police traffic op

Premium Content Subscriber only A 76-year-old man is among a number of drivers allegedly caught doing the wrong thing on our roads during a police traffic operation. Police took to both the city and Moore Park, pulling over a number of drivers and conducting 284 breath tests. An additional eight tests were carried out for drugs. Two people are set to appear in court following Traffic Operation Stopper which included officers from the Bundaberg Patrol Group, Bundaberg General Duties, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Tactical Crime Squad, Road Policing Unit and the Vulnerable Persons Unit. A 33-year-old Kepnock woman is scheduled to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on March 5 for driving without a drivers licence and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, while a 76-year-old Bungadoo man is scheduled to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on March 5 for driving without a licence.
