A manâs weeping in the watch house has been described as âcrocodile tearsâ after the theft of a womanâs handbag in broad daylight added more offences to his 12-page criminal history.
Walter Thomas Godfrey, 36, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence and three counts of fraud.
The court heard Godfrey was âloiteringâ in the carpark of the Hinkler Shopping Centre at midday on Thursday where he saw the victim approach her car.
He then walked past her and waited against a wall while the victim unlocked her car and wound down windows to let out hot air.

Closure of drug trafficking operation at Bundaberg
Bundaberg detectives recently closed a drug trafficking operation, originating in the Bundaberg area and extending to south-east Queensland, involving the alleged distribution of steroids, cocaine and MDMA.
During the operation several residences and businesses were searched with officers locating cash, drugs and associated equipment.
Following information received about the unlawful importation of Selective Androgen Receptive Modulators (SARM) which is similar to testosterone, police searched an Avoca business.
It will be alleged police located more than twenty containers of restricted SARM drugs, as well as steroidal powders and liquids. They also located a substantial amount of packaging, labels, gel capsules and empty vials.

Subscriber only A man has been fined after he struck another man with his car following a verbal exchange. Jack Thomas Liddell, 24, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday to one count of driving without due care and attention. The court heard police were called to an crash on Targo St on the afternoon of January 21. When police spoke to the victim he told them he had been struck by Liddell s car and thought he had a broken leg. Police then spoke to Liddell who told officers he had walked across the road to his car which was parked in the centre parking near the Central Hotel when he heard the victim yell something threatening to him.
