A Bundaberg mother avoided time in jail after pleading guilty to a string of offences including luring a man to her home and promising sexual interaction . But there was to be no sexual interaction for the victim, instead, he was met with three men wearing hoods and wielding baseball bats and pieces of timber. The man was robbed and Kylah-Rae Rose Foster, 23, was sentenced to a head sentence of two and a half years imprisonment with an immediate parole release. A man hoping to get lucky found himself robbed and threatened on the side of the road. Catherine Maria Drury pleaded guilty to counts of theft, extortion and demanding money with threats to injure in the Bundaberg District Court.

Subscriber only A man will spend Christmas and Easter behind bars before being eligible for parole after he went into the home of a man he knew before assaulting him with a baseball bat. Braydon John Robert Hugh Adams pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to 16 offences including assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, wilful damage and entering a dwelling with intent at night. At noon on July 8, Adams and two other people went to the home of a man they knew where went inside before leaving again. At 6.30pm that same day the group returned where Adams got out of the car with a baseball bat and smashed windows at the victim s home.
Falealea Fia pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday one count of assault occasioning bodily harm. The court heard the victim was walking home from a Childers hotel just after midnight on September 6. The victim and Fia were both involved in a fight in the middle of the street. Fia continued assaulting the victim when he was on the ground and couldn t defend himself. The victim sustained injuries including a broken nose and a chipped tooth. Police prosecutor Sergeant Dean Burgess told the court Fia had no criminal history to tender. Fia s barrister Craig Ryan told the court his client was a Tongan national who had been in Australia on a migrant farm work visa program.

Subscriber only A COURT has heard how a man drove from Goomeri to Gin Gin while intoxicated, after he threatened to kill his partner. Boaz Herbert John Weis, 33, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court this week to dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving over the middle alcohol limit and failing to comply with a direction to stop his vehicle. At 1am on June 17 police in Gin Gin were called by an informant worried about Weis ex-wife after he threatened to drive to her home at Tannum Sands and kill her. Further information provided to police indicated Weis was intoxicated and had a firearm in his car and was going to shoot her.

Subscriber only A magistrate has heard a 22-year-old man has refrained from drinking alcohol after his behaviour at a local watering hole landed him in court. Brandon Leigh Williams pleaded guilty in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court last week to one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of common assault. Police Prosecutor Senior Constable Tina Bland said the victim was working as a security guard at the Sugarland Tavern. She said the victim approached the defendant about midnight on September 27 and asked him to leave the premises. The defendant has then become argumentative and pushed the victim in the chest, the defendant s girlfriend has gotten in between the defendant and the victim and has taken a glass of alcohol from the defendant, Sen Const Bland said.
