Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday said that the Centre will present its side to the Supreme Court-appointed committee, when asked.
Earlier, the ninth round of talks between the Union government and farmers protesting against the three agricultural laws ended without any resolution. The next meeting was scheduled for January 19.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Lok Shakti) spokesperson Shailesh Kumar Giri said members of the Supreme Court-appointed panel of experts, known to support farm laws in the past, should follow Bhupinder Singh Mann and not be on the “wrong side of history”. Mann has recused himself from committee, saying he did not wish to compromise farmers’ interests.

The ninth round of talks between the Centre and protesting farmers also ended inconclusively, with another round scheduled to be held on 19 January.
Protesting farmer unions stuck to their demand for a complete repeal of the three contentious farm laws at their ninth round of talks with three central ministers, but the government asked them to be more flexible in their approach and expressed willingness for necessary amendments.
Farmer unions and opposition parties too had raised doubts over the composition of the panel, insisting that its members have been in favour of the three laws in the past. The panel is due to hold its first meeting on 19 January

Govt-farmers to hold ninth round of talks on Friday; Tomar hopeful of positive discussion
The ninth round of negotiations between the government and protesting farmers will take place on Friday. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar expressed hope that the discussions would be positive. The government is ready to hold talks with farmers leaders with an open mind, Tomar said amid confusion over the fate of the next round of talks, in the wake of the Supreme Court appointing a four-member panel to resolve the impasse.Â
Tomar said the talks between the government and the union representatives will take place as scheduled for 12 pm on January 15. Even as the farmers refused to appear before the court-appointed panel citing its composition, the unions have expressed willingness to attend the scheduled talks with the government.
Dushyant Chautala meets Narendra Modi
As per reports, Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, a day after he met Home minister Amit Shah with Manohar Lal Khattar. After an hour-long meeting with Shah, both Khattar and Chautala said they have discussed about the prevailing law and order situation in the state. There is no threat to the Haryana government and it will last its full five year term, Chautala hald told news agency
