Larimer County is back to administering doses of Johnson & Johnson s COVID-19 vaccine following a nearly two-week nationwide pause of its distribution.
The Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the pause on April 13 after six women reported developing a rare and severe type of blood clot syndrome thrombosis-thrombocytopenia syndrome, or TTS after getting the vaccine.
In total, the agencies confirmed 15 cases of TTS in women between 18 and 59 years old. They developed it between six and 15 days after receiving their vaccine dose, according to the FDA and CDC.
