But such a scenario was standard last year for Michelle Zamora, who puppets the wannabe chef Waffles in Netflix’s new children’s cookery show The former US First Lady stars as a supermarket owner who helps Waffles and her fellow puppet Mochi as they travel around the world learning how to cook. According to Zamora she was a natural with the puppets. “Right away when the puppets came up, she was just having conversations with them off camera, so it was very seamless,” she says with a grin.
