ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Newly released CDC guidelines recommend students return to in-person instruction as long as schools follow appropriate safety protocols, but the issues with how to reopen schools during the pandemic continue, with safety being the main concern among teachers.
“I think teachers are getting a bad rap right now that they don t want to come back to school and they are being lazy, and that s really not the case,” Wilson Magnet High School teacher Nickole Lobdell says.
New recommendations from the CDC says schools can safely reopen with mask-wearing and social distancing in place, but say teachers don t need to get vaccinated against COVID-19. That doesn t connect with some teachers, who note how much the vaccine is being promoted.
