Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar is set to miss up to eight weeks as a result of an syndesmosis injury sustained in Saturday night’s win over St Kilda.
Treloar s ankle was crunched just before half-time and was immediately substituted out of the game, with the boom recruit ending the night in a moonboot.
“We’ve decided the best way to manage this injury is to operate to stabilise the ligament,” Bulldogs head of sports medicine Chris Bell said in a club statement on Monday afternoon.
“This will get him back playing sooner and avoid ongoing complications.

Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar will undergo surgery on his ankle after injuring it against the Saints on Saturday night.
The star recruit is set for 6-8 weeks on the sidelines as he recovers from the syndesmosis injury.
“We’ve decided the best way to manage this injury is to operate to stabilise the ligament,” said Bulldogs head of sports medicine Chris Bell on Monday.
“This will get him back playing sooner and avoid ongoing complications.
“We will confirm his timeframe to return to play following the surgery but expect him to miss the 6-8 weeks of footy.”

I’m struggling to reconcile the leeway Nathan Buckley has enjoyed in the media.
In each of his first six years as coach, the club declined. In the latter four of those six, Collingwood missed the finals. In Buckley’s seventh year (2018), he coached Collingwood to a grand final loss, but since has gone backwards again.
