South Sydney have sealed a one-year deal for Anthony Milford to resurrect his NRL career at the club in 2022.
The 27-year-old five-eighth has been on the outer at the Broncos this season and was told his services would not be required next year with Rabbitohs playmaker Adam Reynolds heading to Brisbane on a lucrative three-year deal.
Milford has played 189 NRL games during his nine-year career
with the Raiders and Broncos, including the 2015 grand final loss, as well as seven Tests for Samoa and two State of Origins for Queensland.
Rabbitohs head of football Mark Ellison was confident Milford could regain his best form next year.
The pressure is ratcheting up on St George Illawarra with the dogfight for the final playoff spots intensifying, COVID breach bans still to be served and the red-hot Rabbitohs next on their agenda.
The Dragons, who are locked in a three-way tie for seventh with Cronulla and Canberra while the Gold Coast and Newcastle lurk just one win back in a tie for 10th place, have no margin for error given their tough run home which includes a return bout with this week s opponents.
South Sydney s potent attack will still be without try-scoring leader Alex Johnston but his absence mattered little in their 11-try destruction of the Warriors and the Dragons did nothing to suggest they will present a stiffer test given the way they capitulated to the Titans.

Fallen Broncos star Anthony Milford has found a new home for 2022, officially signing with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The move will see Milford, once the star playmaker at Red Hill, link up with former Brisbane assistant Jason Demetriou, who will take control of the Bunnies next season. We re really excited to have Anthony joining our club in 2022, Souths head of football Mark Ellison said.

Half the time with those guys they re just giving them the ball and asking them to do their best.
They do that too often, it s not good ball and putting them into holes but just dishing it out to them, asking them to stand and deliver, show us your strength and bowl someone over. Kotoni can do that, but they need better service to them as well.
As for the rest of the spine I reckon Tesi Niu needs to be kept on. He s off contract but another dilemma is the money his managers are demanding.
