The Malawi Police Service has vowed to work hand in hand with Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA) in the fight against copyright law infringement, following a training which took place at Sigelege beach resort in Salima from 9th to 11th December 2020.
COSOMA has trained 6 policemen from Malawiâs 3 regions following a Memorandum of understanding with the Malawi Police Service on enforcement of copyright laws in April 3rd 2020.
According to the Executive Director and Copyright Administrator of COSOMA, Dora Makwinja, the training is a step further in its efforts to end copyright infringement.
Superintendent Raphael Mpophiwa, speaking on the sidelines of the training, said the training is not only a want but also a need, he commended COSOMA for conducting the training saying it will assist in sharpening their investigative skills when handling Copyright related cases.
