Post Malone’s success on the Billboard charts has now translated into even greater highs with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Three of Posty’s biggest singles, “Congratulations” with Quavo, “Rockstar” with 21 Savage and “Sunflower” with Swae Lee, have all crossed the 10 million sales threshold, totaling three diamond plaques for the Texas singer. At age 25, he becomes the youngest artist in history to have three diamond-certified singles. On Friday (April 16), Dre London, the man who discovered Post Malone, took to Instagram to celebrate Posty’s success. “Mama!! Kranium’s eight-year-old hit Nobody Has to Know has been certified silver in the United Kingdom for sales of more than 200,000 copies. The song which was produced by PLMR Productions sold more than 39,000 copies in 2015 and peaked at #32 on the Reggae Digital Songs chart. The track also did well on other international charts including the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart where it was certified gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2019 for sales of more than 500,000. It also got significant airplay in Canada and earned a gold certification there for selling 40,000 copies. “I mean, it’s been a good ride. Dancehall music, it works when it’s done properly, and sometimes it takes longer. It [the song’s success] just shows that if we support the music these are the things that happen,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Apple Music pays a penny per stream, double Spotify s rate

While that doesn t seem much, it s around double Spotify s rate for payments. Apple s rate can sometimes dip below a penny per stream, according to the Wall Street Journal. But it s still much higher than Spotify s average per-stream payout of between a third and a half of a cent. At last count, however, Spotify had far more paying members than Apple Music. Spotify had 155 million premium users in the fourth quarter of 2020, and 345 million users overall. The last time Apple revealed its Music subscriber numbers was in June 2019, when it had more than 60 million members.
