Premier Doug Ford told reporters this week that he’s encouraging all health care workers to get double shots but he refuses to make it mandatory.
“I think it’s their constitutional right to take it or not take it,” Ford said. “I’m here for months begging, pleading, everyone to get it, but no one should be forced to do anything.”
The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) does not support mandatory vaccination of its members.

ONA said in a statement that it has asked employers to remove barriers that are likely causing vaccine hesitancy and to facilitate vaccination through measures such as workplace vaccine clinics.
