Ahead of reopening of schools in the winter zone of Jammu and Kashmir after remaining closed for over a year, the authorities in Doda district on Wednesday started a three-day camp for students here to help them overcome the fear of COVID-19, officials said.
Organised by the directorate of school education in Jammu, the camp was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar.

Ahead of reopening of schools in the winter zone of Jammu and Kashmir after remaining closed for over a year, the authorities in Doda district on Wednesday started a three-day camp for students here to help them overcome the fear of COVID-19, officials said.
Organised by the directorate of school education in Jammu, the camp was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar.
While the schools in the summer zone started functioning from February 1, the winter zone schools are slated to reopen next month after the end of winter break as most parts of Kashmir and hilly regions of Jammu falling in this category are still reeling under sub-zero temperature.

DODA, Jan 12: Students of Government Degree PG College Bhaderwah and Government Degree College Doda held protest demanding postponement of the examinations scheduled from January 22, 2021.
Bhadarwah unit of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) along with students said that online classes conducted this year were not effective as they did not have access to the high speed internet.
Protesting students took to various online platforms to protest. At PG College Bhadarwah, they held physical protests demanding either syllabus should be curtailed or examinations should be postponed to March.
Secretary ABVP Sandeep Charak while leading the protest said that students want all stakeholders to be consulted before the University announces the examination timetable. BHADERWAH, Dec 24: Three shops including a departmental store, residential complex and a car were gutted in a midnight blaze in Mathola area here.
The shops and departmental store housed in a 4 stories complex located on Bhaderwah-Mathola road, 5 kilometers from the town got damaged in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
The fire, which started at 1:30 am on Thursday, completely destroyed multi storey complex housing 3 shops and 3 residential floors belonging to Mukesh Kumar, son of Prithvi Raj Manhas. One Scorpio car bearing registration number JK02CL-1265 of Sanjay Anand of Jammu parked near the complex was also damaged in the fire.
