A bill introduced in the Tennessee Senate would make several reforms to the state's asset forfeiture process and close a loophole allowing state and local police to circumvent stringent state asset forfeiture laws by passing cases off to the feds.
OLYMPIA, Wash. (Feb. 8, 2021) – On Friday, a Washington state House committee passed a bill that would create a process to sue police officers in state court for using excessive force or taking other actions that violate individual rights without the possibility of “qualified immunity” as a defense.
A coalition of 23 Democrats introduced House Bill 1202 (HB1202) on Jan. 14. The legislation would create a cause of action for “any person injured in person or property by a peace officer acting under color of authority” to sue the offending officer and the department he works for in state court. Actions that would give cause include “conduct that under civil law constitutes an assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, false arrest, malicious prosecution, intentional trespass, or conversion.” It would also cover “a detention, traffic stop, search, seizure, or entry into a home that is unlawful under the state Constitution” along

The Dakotas Look to Nullify Biden Executive Orders
With the cloud of new regulations, gun control, and anti-jobs measures hanging over the Rocky Mountain West and Upper Great Plains, lawmakers in North and South Dakota are looking to push back through nullification.
We had a caller into our radio show Tuesday morning bring up the effort in North Dakota to stop President Biden s executive orders through nullification. A similar effort is underway in South Dakota as well.
According to The Tenth Amendment Center, the proposed law in North Dakota would place any executive order under review by the state s attorney general.

Yes – the Tenth Amendment Center is going to be extremely important in fighting back the overreaching federal government we’re sure to get under Joe Biden.
But if you don’t recognize that the Tenth Amendment Center was extremely important the last four years when Trump was in the White House, you’re part of the problem. Violating the constitution is a bipartisan sport.
