Weekend lane closures on the JFX, street closures in Fells Point Overnight Beltway work next week: Jim Russ Weekend Traffic Advisory

– Cold Spring Lane at Wabash Avenue - Effective Monday, November 9 th both Cold Spring Lane and Wabash Avenue will be narrowed to ONE LANE EACH WAY until approximately mid-August 2021. The traffic signal at the intersection will be re-timed to alternate the street and the direction of travel that gets by. Baltimore City: SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT -  Falls Road between Chestnut Avenue (south of Clipper Mill Road, near Mill No. 1 and Maryland Avenue is CLOSED until SUMMER 2021. Possible alternate routes include Maryland Avenue for SOUTHBOUND traffic, Charles Street for NORTHBOUND traffic or I-83/Jones Falls Expressway. The Jones Falls Trail remains OPEN.

Brooklyn neighborhood donates what they can, takes what they need at Sharing Corner

GOWANUS, Brooklyn (WABC) They say nothing good comes from hanging out on the street corner. However, if the corner is Douglass and Bond Streets in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn - a lot of good comes from the Sharing Corner. Sharing Corner Co-Founder Ava Cotlowitz is an art teacher at PS 32. Because of COVID, there was no toy giveaway for the students during the holidays, and no coat drive this winter. That does not mean there is no compassion. It s needed now more than ever. People are losing their jobs. We need to help our neighbors as much as we can, said Cotlowitz.

Long-time Central Oregon business owner Jerry Seed passes away at 81

Long-time Central Oregon business owner Jerry Seed passes away at 88 Submitted photo Along with Mattress Factory, other businesses, actively helped community BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Gerald (Jerry) Seed, founder and owner of The Mattress Factory, passed away Friday in Bend due to complications from a recent stroke. Jerry, who had turned 88 last week, owned and operated businesses in Central Oregon for over 42 years. Jerry Seed moved to Bend in 1976 with his family from Anchorage, Alaska.  He purchased Ostrander’s Country Furniture in the Old Bend Hardware Building, on the corner of Minnesota and Bond Streets in downtown Bend and soon changed the name to Jerry’s Home Furnishings.  He would later open a children’s clothing store, Kid’s Stuff, within the furniture store.
