ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday called for enhancing forestation in the county to mitigate the negative effects of climate change as well as promoting the production of exportable agriculture-related products such as honey, olives, avocado, and other fruits and vegetables for wealth creation.
Addressing the launching ceremony of “Billion Tree Honey” Initiative here, he said with the depleting forest cover and increasing air and water pollution, Pakistan had become the fifth country in the world being affected by climate change.
The initiative part of the Prime Minister’s vision of a Clean and Green Pakistan, is aimed at promoting tree plantation to support production of honey in the country under the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme (TBTTP).

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has formally launched Billion Tree Honey Initiative to promoting tree plantation and honey production in the country under Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme.
Addressing the launching ceremony in Islamabad today (Monday), he said the TBTTP will help control environmental degradation, including enhancing forest cover, cleaning rivers and protecting ground water from pollution, and checking air pollution. He said it is responsibility of his government to hand over a clean Pakistan to younger generations.
The Prime Minister said Billion Tree Honey Initiative will also help improve environment, enhance exports, and create job opportunities for the youth. He said this initiative will benefit the local population of areas, where these forests will be grown.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan will participate in the Launch Ceremony of the Billion Tree Honey Initiative, a national apiculture program.
This initiative is part of the prime minister’s vision of a Clean & Green Pakistan.
It aims at promoting tree plantation to support the production of Honey in the Country under the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme (TBTTP).
Accordingly, the plantation of plants including Kao, Phulai, Ber, Kikar, and other bee flora is being encouraged under the TBTTP.
Meanwhile, an exclusive analysis was conducted of Honey Production in the Country to devise a mechanism for encouraging the promotion of bee flora improving the quality of honey production, providing livelihood to the beekeepers, and sustain the activity through the provision of financial resources.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday launched “Billion Tree Honey” initiative hoping that marketing of 70,000 metric tons of honey will generate an income between Rs35-43 billion and generate around 87,000 green jobs.
The premier participated in the launching ceremony of the Billion Tree Honey initiative in Islamabad, which is a part of his vision Clean and Green Pakistan.
