BALLIA: Mukhtar Ansari s brother alleged on Wednesday that inhuman treatment was given to the gangster-turned-politician while being transferred to Banda jail from Punjab, saying it would have been better had he been just shot dead at a road crossing.
The Uttar Pradesh government, however, said a team of doctors of the Banda Medical College examined Mukhtar Ansari at the jail and found no immediate health issues.

Alleging inhuman treatment towards gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, his brother on Wednesday said Ansari was not given water and food while he was being transferred to Banda jail from Punjab. It could have been better had he been shot dead at a crossing, Mukhtar Ansari s brother said. Inhuman treatment was meted to Mukhtar while being shifted from Punjab to Banda jail. In over 15 hours journey, he was not given water and food on the way and was also denied medical aid. Due to this, he became unwell and reached Banda jail in a semi-unconscious state, Afzal Ansari, the BSP MP from Ghazipur said.Â

Banda (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 7 (ANI): Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari has been kept in a highly-secured isolation barrack in the District Jail Banda.
Mukhtar Ansari was brought to the District Jail Banda from Punjab s Ropar Jail at around 4:50 am on Wednesday by the special security team of Uttar Pradesh Police. Ansari was made to cross through a state-of-the-art door frame metal detector and searched with pole metal detector and handheld metal detector. No illegal material was found. A medical team from Banda Medical College conducted a health checkup of Ansari. A COVID test of Ansari will be held on Wednesday, read the statement of Uttar Pradesh Prisons Head Quarter.
