Army special forces sergeant pleads not guilty in bowling alley mass shooting

© Thinkstock A green beret who was charged in the December mass shooting of an Illinois bowling alley on Friday pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, The Associated Press reports. Duke Webb issued the plea during a virtual hearing in response to three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Webb is being held without bond in a Winnebago County, Ill. jail, the AP notes. Webb is accused of going on a shooting spree at the Don Carter Lanes bowling alley on Dec. 26, resulting in the death of three people, aged 73, 65 and 69. A 62-year-old man, 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were also injured during the incident.

Rockford shooting: Vigil held after 6 shot, 3 killed in apparent random act at Don Carter Lanes bowling alley Christmas weekend

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WLS) Hundreds gathered outside a Rockford bowling alley Saturday night to remember the victims of a deadly shooting Christmas weekend. Three people were killed and three others were hurt in what appears to be a random shooting at Don Carter Lanes. At Saturday s vigil, the general manager of the bowling alley praised the staff working at the time of the shooting. Duke Webb, a U.S. serviceman from Florida has been charged in a shooting. 37 year-old Duke Webb facing murder charges. The active U.S. Army member accused of shooting 6 people, killing 3 at the Don Carter Lanes & restaurant in Rockford.
