Closing Arguments In Derek Chauvin Trial Set To Begin Monday

Monday marks the beginning of the end in regards to the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin, who is accused of killing George Floyd last year by kneeling on his neck for more than 9 minutes. The defense and prosecution have each rested their cases and both sides are set to deliver their closing arguments Monday.
After three weeks of emotional testimony and expert opinions, coupled with two fatal police shootings since the trial began, pressure has mounted as the world watches the Twin Cities. Monday will provide both sides one last opportunity to be heard before the jury decides Chauvin’s fate.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio A Bowling Green State University student is getting a wave of support as she battles leukemia. Paige Redlin is set to graduate with a masters degree in business in August but just found out about her diagnosis last month.
Her closest friend, Madison Suflow, said the news was so unexpected. Never would have thought in a million years this would be happening or that was what was wrong with her, said Suflow.

Health Editor’s Note: The U.S. has an intensified vaccination program when compared to other countries of the world. For instance, Brazil has had to deal with President Bolsonaro who is of the Trump ilk as he also downplayed COVID-19 and the citizens of Brazil continue to pay the unacceptable price of mounting deaths. Brazil’s daily coronavirus deaths account for one quarter of the world’s total numbers of dead.
With the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine placed on hold, the world is losing an opportunity to vaccinate with only one dose required. This will take a heavy toll on the populations that are harder to vaccinate, the homeless, transient, etc., because the one shot vaccine was a very efficient way to deliver the vaccine. Also, poorer countries have been using vaccines made by Russia and China and these vaccines may offer less protection than those being used in richer portions of the world.
