Bowling Green State University in Ohio announced that it has permanently expelled three students and suspended 17 in connection to the death of a sophomore participating in fraternity hazing in March.

Bowling Green State University in Ohio announced on Friday that it has permanently expelled three students and suspended 17 in connection to the death of a sophomore participating in fraternity hazing in March of this year.
The suspensions range from three to eight years and one student received a deferred suspension, the university said in a statement. The statement didn’t name the specific students who were disciplined.

As life continues to reopen in this new season of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio’s colleges and universities are preparing to welcome students back with open and less socially distanced arms this fall.
Some schools already announced plans for their return to campus in the fall before students finished their exams this spring. But with guidance from the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention being frequently updated, and Ohio lawmakers trying to ban certain pandemic-related mandates, many school’s plans have already changed this summer.
