The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce announced this year’s Athena Award Winner as WNKY General Manager Julie Milam. We’re told this award honors a Bowling Green area businesswoman who contributes greatly to the community and advancement of women in the business world. The chamber says when choosing a winner, they’re looking for leaders who are regularly engaged in the community and continually give back in a lot of different ways. The chamber surprised Milam with her friends and family, balloons, and a car parade to celebrate her accomplishments.

Bowling Green and Warren County Expand the Kentucky Transpark by Issuing Over $46M in Bonds Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce Bowling Green, Kentucky, UNITED STATES BOWLING GREEN, Ky., April 13, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Bowling Green and Warren County have issued a $46.5M bond to help pay for the expansion and development of the Kentucky Transpark by the Inter-Modal Transportation Authority (ITA). The initial Kentucky Transpark was comprised of approximately 700 acres and serves as home to 19 private companies and 3 educational facilities that employ over 2,600. This bond will pay for the development of more than 400 acres, a portion of which was recently acquired by the ITA. Preliminary geotechnical work and Phase I ESA necessary to prepare the acreage for further development have already been completed, so the property can be effectively marketed for further economic development success.

Washington, Kentucky, Jan. 29, 2021 MHS Holdings, Inc.  (“MHS” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of advanced material handling automation solutions, engineering, equipment and software, is moving forward with plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky after the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) this week granted preliminary approval of a 10-year agreement that can provide up to $2.5 million in tax incentives. In turn, MHS plans to invest $7.6 million in the facility, which will create 200 new full-time jobs. The project is expected to have a total economic impact topping $327 million over a 10-year period.
