The Brownson Speech and Debate team started the season with a Virtual Fall Retreat in late September.
With a strong finish to competition this semester, Seton Hall University s Brownson Forensics Speech and Debate team within the College of Communication and the Arts ended the Fall 2020 semester with over 150 awards and qualified for 31 events for the national bid to the American Forensics Tournament in April 2021.
In the month of November alone, eight Seton Hall speakers and debaters were awarded 55 awards, including 4 first place Team Sweepstakes and 19 individual first place student awards. The Seton Speakers have lived up to the Brownson legacy by making a serious national impression in the first semester of the academic year, said Catherine Zizik, associate professor of communication and founding director of forensics.

The Wild is still waiting for next season to start, but its manpower continues to take a hit.
Backup goalie Alex Stalock is out indefinitely because of an upper-body injury, the team announced Wednesday. Forward Mats Zuccarello is also sidelined after undergoing surgery on his right arm.
With Stalock unavailable, and to boost the team s depth, the team signed veteran Andrew Hammond to a one-year, two-way contract ($700,000 if he s in the NHL and $200,000 if he s in the minors).
Hammond is familiar to the organization, having suited up for Iowa in the American Hockey League in 2018-19 when he went 19-12-2 with a .908 save percentage and 2.81 goals-against average.
