Once the coronavirus vaccine is available to the general public, not everyone will be lining up to get a shot. They ve done some polls and they show that the African-American community is very leery of the vaccine.
Palm Beach County Health Director Dr. Alina Alonso says she s reaching out to leaders in the local minority communities to try and come up with ways to convince residents that they can feel safe in getting vaccinated.
She says one way to do that is to lead by example. I will take the vaccine without any hesitation. I know that there s a lot of unknowns and this is a new vaccine, but I think we need to stand up and say we re going to take the vaccine so that people can believe us.
