JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A local doctor is criticizing the state’s rollout of vaccines saying communities of color are left at a disadvantage.
First Coast News reported how officials in other Florida cities are concerned about Publix playing a large role, sometimes being the sole distributor, of COVID-19 vaccines.
In a Twitter thread, Dr. Sunil Joshi of the Duval County Medical Society Foundation said it was an example of elitism and systemic racism.

The notorious Twitter troll and alt-right figure Douglass Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn on Twitter, was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of election interference stemming from allegations of a voter disinformation campaign during the 2016 election.
Mackey is accused of having used Twitter to mislead voters into casting their ballots via text. According to the complaint, 4,900 unique telephone numbers texted their votes to the number that was provided. He was involved in numerous group direct messages, including one with the name War Room, wherein dozens of people shared ideas about how to influence the election, according to federal prosecutors.

A top Palm Beach County official said she s disgusted by Gov. Ron DeSantis plan to allow Publix pharmacies to be the primary source of distributing the COVID-19 vaccine throughout the county. Shame on him for thinking that that was appropriate for our county, Commissioner Melissa McKinlay said at Tuesday s commission meeting.
According to Palm Beach County health director Dr. Alina Alonso, the county is very, very low on vaccine, and a majority of the doses are going to 67 Publix pharmacies as part of a pilot program with the state.
