But a hit piece on DeSantis attempted by CBS’s 60 Minutes went awry when the network was caught selectively editing its interview with the governor, as well as leaving out vital information from its report. DeSantis has won grudging praise from the media for how Florida responded to the pandemic. Florida’s death toll is lower per capita than New York’s while DeSantis has been able to keep the economy from collapsing by limiting lockdowns and easing restrictions in a timely, sensible manner.

The CBS This Morning and the CBS Evening News broadcasts from Monday show the DeSantis report on his vaccine rollout was not discussed, Fox News reported. A CBS spokesperson did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner s request for comment on the matter. The move comes after 60 Minutes was accused of selectively editing an interview with DeSantis and manufacturing a “pay to play” scandal involving vaccine distribution in Florida.

Just the introduction to a national audience of the previously debunked claims of impropriety regarding Florida’s vaccine rollout. Notably, if you’re familiar with Palm Beach County politics, you’re aware that featured sources included a who’s who of those who are more interested in political ambitions than solutions. This includes Melissa McKinlay who has been more interested in opposing Governor DeSantis’s policy in Commission meetings than listening to Palm Beach County’s Health Director in those meetings. Or Omari Hardi who literally called national news outlets to publicize in advance a scene he’d staged at the Lake Worth Beach City Commission meeting with mayor Pam Triolo. In Fact, the reporting was so demonstrably false Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner put out a statement saying this:
