One dead in Belle Glade shooting; Palm Beach County homicides now at 50

BELLE GLADE Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in Belle Glade. The shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. on the 900 block of Southwest Avenue H, east of Glade View Elementary School, the Palm Beach County Sheriff s Office said. Deputies found a male dead from at least one gunshot wound. The death is being investigated as a homicide, PBSO said. It did not immediately identify the male. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division worked Friday evening to identify a suspect and a motive. The death is the fifth homicide reported in Belle Glade this year, surpassing the number reported for all of 2020, according to a Palm Beach Post online database. It is at least the 50th homicide to occur in Palm Beach County this year.

PBSO Mourns The Death Of Civilian Employee Killed In Crash

By Joel Malkin Photo: PBSO/Facebook The Palm Beach County Sheriff s Office is mourning the loss of a civilian employee with the agency. Robert Ehrenberg was killed in a car crash in Wellington on Monday night, when his car collided with another vehicle on Forest Hill Boulevard. Ehrenberg, who worked in the central records department, died at the scene along with a female passenger, 58-year old Gloria Ludwig. Two 17-year old girls in the other car were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A PBSO spokeswoman tells us Ehrenberg would have turned 63 this month.
