Investor group to acquire City Brewing
Deal with Pabst for the La Crosse City Brewery lasts until 2040.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - La Crosse s City Brewing announced Tuesday that a consortium of investors is purchasing the company.
In a release, it said that the investors including Charlesbank Capital Partners (“Charlesbank”), Oaktree Capital Management, LLC (“Oaktree”), Blue Ribbon Partners, LLC (“Blue Ribbon”), and City management will own 100% of City Brewing.
The deal is expected to close in April.
City Brewing operates three facilities in the country including its headquarters in La Crosse, Memphis, and Latrobe, Pennsylvania. They employ approximately 1,800 people at the facilities.

by Timothy McQuiston, Vermont Business Magazine C&C Group, based in Dublin, Ireland, announced Tuesday that is selling Middlebury-based Vermont Hard Cider Co for $20 million, or $285 million less than it bought it for in 2012, to Northeast Kingdom Drink Group. Northeast Kingdom Drink Group is referred to as Northeast Drinks Group LLC in a press release announcing the deal.
Northeast Drinks Group is a privately owned holding company. It said it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase the Vermont Hard Cider Company, LLC, including its pioneering cider brands and state-of-the-art production facility in Middlebury.

The best new wood apartment building in the country is in Milwaukee.
So says the WoodWorks – Wood Products Council. The non-profit bestowed the Timber Lofts apartment building with its 2021 Multi-Family Wood Design award.
And while most new apartment buildings are made of lumber, the 60-unit building at 331 S. 3rd St. is the first in the city to use mass timber, a man-made lumber product, in its structure.
