The Chinese reactor design is now at Stage 4 of the UK Office of Nuclear Regulation Generic Design Assessment. The Sizewelll investment is a follow-on to an investment by China in the Hinkley Point C project where two Chinese SOE’s have taken a one-third equity stake in the project. In return the government promised China the right to build the Bradwell project with one and potentially as many as three of its Hualong One reactors.
