Storyboard launches Dec 17, features regional authors and artists

The 19th issue of the University of Guam’s literary journal, “Storyboard: A Journal of Pacific Imagery,” will launch Dec. 17 at a live virtual event featuring readings by and discussions with featured authors and artists. “This edition is a beautiful collection that reflects the creative expression and unique perspectives of island peoples,” said Holly Rustick, editor of the journal. The issue features 38 original pieces of creative writing  prose, poetry, short stories as well as artwork inspired by the theme, “Oceania Rising” and explores the political, social, economic, emotional, cultural and spiritual struggles of climate change in Oceania.   “The interpretations of what ‘Oceania Rising’ means range from the rise of navigating cultural identity all the way to the actual rise of the waters and, with it, the impact of climate change on traditions, the land, and legacy, Rustick said.
