Dr. Lindsey Blom, a professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology at Ball State University, has earned a high honor from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for her dedication to student fulfillment.
This annual award recognizes the outstanding efforts by faculty at schools within the MAC who support students, enhance the collegiate experience, establish and support inclusive environments, prepare students for success after graduation, and promote lifelong learning.
“Professor Blom earned this great honor as a result of her dedication to the success and welfare of our students,” Ball State President Geoffrey S. Mearns said. “I am proud that, for the second consecutive year, one of our outstanding teachers has received this recognition. It is a reflection of the commitment of our faculty and staff to the success of all of our students.”

Georgia Southern University has invited six distinguished Georgians to serve as speakers for the Spring 2021 Commencement ceremonies on May 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13.
The University will hold six commencement ceremonies for a mix of undergraduate and graduate students from each of the University’s 10 colleges. The commencement ceremonies on May 8 will be held at the Savannah Convention Center at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for undergraduates and graduates from each of the University’s three campuses who prefer to attend a ceremony in Savannah. The remaining four ceremonies will take place at Allen E. Paulson Stadium on the Statesboro Campus on M
Abstract
Welcome to this special issue of Journal of Applied Sport Psychology on mental health in sport. The special issue comes at a particularly pertinent time as the study of mental health in sport gathers significant momentum. In this introduction–and throughout the special issue we aim to provide robust, thought-provoking research and commentary on a broad range of topics within the field of mental health and sport. We outline the specific contributions of each article here, and conclude with an epilogue where we provide some comment on the field moving forward.

Stephen is a Professor in Sport Psychology at the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences. He is Editor of the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology and co-founder and Network Editor of the World Rugby Science Network. He is a Chartered Psychologist of the British Psychological Society, a registered Practitioner Psychologist and Partner with the Health and Care Professions Council, and a British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences accredited Sport Scientist. He has 25 years consultancy experience in high performance sport, working most recently within professional rugby union.
