THE CITY’S MASK MANDATE UNTIL AT LEAST THE END OF APRIL AND EVEN IF THE GOVERNOR LIFTS THE STATE’S MASK MANDATE THE CITY’S MASK. WILL STAY IN PLACE. WE PASSED THIS IN JUNE LAST YEAR, THEN THE GOVERNOR CAME OUT WITH HIS MANDATE BUT OUR STATE IN EFFECT. SO WHEN IT THE STATE GOES WAY THIS ONE HAS IT COMES BACK TO LIFE AGAIN UNTIL THE CITY COUNCIL REPEALS IT THE FAYETTEVILLE BOARD OF HEALTH SAYS IT HAS THREE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE IT APPROVES LIFTING THE MASK MANDATE IN THE CITY. Arkansas is one month into administering the COVID-19 vaccine, and Governor Asa Hutchinson says their administration is getting ready to move into Phase 1-B in the beginning of February. The Governor is urging people to take the vaccine as it becomes available. Governor Hutchinson sent 5NEWS this statement: “Phase 1-B, which we plan to start in February, includes people who are at least 70 years of age, teachers and school staff, food and agricultural workers, firefighters and law enforcement that were not included in 1-A. It will also include manufacturing workers, grocery store employees, public transportation workers, child care workers, and essential workers in government, including legislators.

Arkansas is still in phase 1-A of the covid-19 vaccination plan, but many local pharmacies are now giving the vaccine to people who fall into that category, not just anyone.  Coleman Pharmacy in Alma is one of four pharmacies in Crawford County that received the Moderna vaccine. They’ve vaccinated more than 70 healthcare workers and first responders since last Monday (Dec.28).
