Betty Jane Schaffeld

ONTARIO Betty Jane Schaffeld (Adams) 94 of Ontario Oregon joined our Heavenly Father Friday April 30th, 2021 peacefully at home. Betty was born in Hardman Oregon February 28th 1927 to Floyd and Ethel Mae Adams. Betty had two Sisters-Clara Bell Rosco (Adams) and Nancy Malone (Adams). Betty often told stories of the “Ranch” in Hardman. Betty’s favorite memories were of her on a horse with her dad. Betty’s was defiantly a daddy’s girl, which made it especially difficult for her when she lost her father when she was 16. Betty attended Oregon State University, yes, Go Beavers. She Graduated in the Class of 1948 with a Degree in Home Economics. As a member of Kappa Delta, she lived on campus in Snell Hall. Betty remembers this time distinctly as there were very few men on campus. They were away during World War II. There was always social event on campus such as skits and dances that Betty attended.

Audrey D Keeland 1930

Audrey D. Keeland 1930 - 2021 Audrey D. Keeland passed away to our Heavenly Father February 5, 2021, at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon. Audrey was born May 21, 1930, in Sparta, Missouri. Raised in a household with nine brothers and sisters, she was known for standing up for herself and conversing with everyone. Audrey married Leonard Keeland in 1947, and they were happily married until his passing in 2003. She was a cook at the Russel logging camp in Yamhill, where her husband logged and helped with the Tillamook Burn forest fire. They bought a fixer house near Carlton Lake for $10 in 1957. Although the house was washed out by the Christmas Flood of 1964, buying and rehabilitating the house was one of her favorite stories to tell.
