TCN said that the total system collapse of the grid was as a result of voltage collapse in some parts of the grid.
Mbah said that the Kainji – Birnin Kebbi line, however, tripped on fault but was restored.
She said that the TCNs 330kV substations feed 132kV substations, through which Distribution Companies offtake electricity they deliver to electricity consumers nationwide. x

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has restored bulk power to all the 330 Kilo Volt (kV)Transmission Stations across the entire grid by 5.54 p.m. Wednesday.

The national grid again, yesterday, suffered another systems collapse, worsening the power supply situation in the country.
Vanguard gathered that the system collapse occurred, following voltage collapse in some parts of the national grid
The national grid is controlled and operated by government-owned Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.
Power system collapse is the process by which the sequence of events accompanying voltage instability leads to an unacceptable voltage drop in a significant part of the power system.
Vanguard learned that the collapse occurred around 11.01 am yesterday.
Confirming the development, TCN General Manager, Ndidi Mbah, told Vanguard that at about 11`.01am yesterday, there was total system collapse of the grid, as a result of voltage collapse at some parts of the grid.
For a second time this year, the nation’s electricity grid collapsed, yesterday, plunging parts of the country into a blackout and worsening the supply situation in other parts.
The Guardian reports that yesterday’s development makes the 29th time in the last three years that the country would experience grid collapse. x
The supply failure, which occurred around 11.00 am, was confirmed by two of the country’s electricity distribution companies in separate messages to their customers.
“We regret to inform you that the power outage currently being experienced across our franchise – Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states – is a result of the collapse of the national grid,” Kaduna Electric said on Twitter.
