SSEN Transmission, the company which owns the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, is seeking feedback from the local community on its plans to connect three wind farms to its existing network.
The company is legally obliged to provide connections to electricity generators looking to connect to the electricity transmission network.
In order to be able to connect the Beaw Field wind farm in Yell and Mossy Hill project outside Lerwick, both consented and owned by Peel Energy, as well as Energy Isles proposed for the northeast corner of Yell, SSEN Transmission is proposing the following:
