A Knebworth care home resident has celebrated her 100th birthday and revealed her secret to living a long life.
Forget the old wives tales of turmeric, or drinking more tea, we ve asked a recent centenarian to share her story and the reasons she thinks she has reached the ripe old age of 100.
Marjorie Broadhurst, from Care UK’s Knebworth Care Home, marked the impressive milestone on Thursday, February 11 and revealed her secret to reaching centenary status was as simple as keeping busy .
Enjoying the day with a host of special treats, the team went above and beyond to ensure Marjorie enjoyed a celebration like no other, complete with a champagne toast, birthday cake and a photo album created by sons, Roger and Ian, and the Knebworth team.

Residents at a care home in St Ives have taken a trip down memory lane as part of a nationwide initiative to rediscover their favourite foods from the past.
Care UK’s Field Lodge, on London Road, hosted a 1970 s themed tea party, complete with quiche Lorraine, vol u vents, and Battenberg cake, as part of their celebrations which aimed to rediscover residents favourite foods throughout the decades.
Residents spent the morning making cheese and pineapple hedgehogs for the event, as well as taking part in a reminiscence session all about their favourite foods from the past.
At least 246 frontline health and care workers have been identified after dying with coronavirus.
Through tributes from loved ones and confirmation through sources such as local NHS trusts and other authorities, the PA news agency has confirmed the names of health and social care workers who have died after contracting Covid-19 since March 11 2020.
This chronological list contains people who were working in roles shortly before their deaths where they were likely to come into contact with patients.
The figure is likely to be lower than the true number of workers who have died, as the names of some victims will not yet be in the public domain.
