An off-duty veteran policeman in Hong Kong was suspected to have committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after leaving a phone message to colleagues asking them to inform his wife.
The 57-year-old constable, attached to the criminal investigation unit of Cheung Chau Police Station, sent the last message to his teammates in a WhatsApp group shortly after 4.30pm, saying he was in an interview room inside the building.
In the message, he bade farewell to his colleagues and thanked them for their support. He also asked them to inform his wife and friends, according to a police source.
