The Middlesex London Health Unit is reporting 276 new COVID-19 cases and one death since Saturday.
The health unit released three days worth of data on Tuesday after taking a two day Easter break from updating its COVID-19 dashboard. The 276 infections break down into 79 confirmed cases on Tuesday, 73 on Monday, and 114 on Sunday.
The region’s total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 7,699.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Churches are getting ready for services this weekend leading up to Easter Sunday. For many, this will be the first time holding in-person Easter services since the pandemic began.
âLast year was so hard for everybody and this year to come back to the church is really a blessing,â said Rev. Carlos Martinez of Mary Queen of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
With Easter being such an important holiday for the church, Martinez says they want to welcome as many people as they can. With a limited capacity and social distancing guidelines in place, this means branching out beyond the pews. The church will hold several Easter services throughout the day in different locations, like in the church, the gym, and in the parking lot. Eleven new local COVID-19 cases were reported Monday by Lambton public health.
The latest cases increased the cumulative total to 2,105. Ten more were considered resolved, bringing that total to 1,961, so the number of active cases in the community was up one to 98. The death toll remained at 46.

Six outbreaks – one less than Sunday – were reported. The Sarnia Jail had 47 inmates and five staff test positive, but those figures haven’t moved for multiple days. An emergency shelter, three long-term care and retirement homes, and a local business were also dealing with incidents.
