Region reports 76 new COVID cases, three more outbreaks Friday
Hospitalizations are up by three

The health department in Waterloo Region reported 76 new coronavirus cases on Friday afternoon. 74 are from Thursday, with the other two added to previous daily totals.
There have now been 12,475 cases in total.
Hospitalizations increased by three to 22, with four people receiving treatment in intensive care.
The active caseload is up again to 453.

107,498 doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered - 15,586 people in the region have been fully vaccinated (2.65 per cent)

There were 66 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region on Thursday and one death. As well, the number of cases that include a variant of concern rose by 51 cases.

The region reported 63 new COVID-19 infections as of Wednesday and a total of 397 active cases.
Confirmed variant cases increased by 36 cases from Tuesday, but may have been accounted for on previous days as it takes time to confirm a variant strain.
So far, there has been a total of 620 variant cases reported in Waterloo region, 38 of which have been confirmed to be the B117 variant first detected in the UK.
