David Franklin David Edward Franklin, 93, of Goodhue passed away peacefully at the Elysian Care Center of Lake City on Friday morning, May 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents David J. and Theresa (McNamara) Franklin and his beloved wife Karleen Franklin. Dave was a lifelong resident of Goodhue. He graduated from Goodhue High School in 1946, and proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea from 1951-1953. Upon his return from the service, he was employed at the Heaney and Gorman store until 1966 when he became a postal clerk. In 1975 he became a rural letter carrier on Route 3 in Goodhue. He retired from the U.S. Postal service on June 9, 1989. Dave was a proud member of the Goodhue County Rural Letter Carriers Association, the Minnesota Rural Letter Carriers Association, and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.
