LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. In Lancaster County, an apartment building is nearly restored after a fire caused significant damage to it two years ago.
Now, people involved in the restoration say as the building gets its second chance so will some families who live in it.
The home, located at the corner of Main and Maple Streets, was once called an eyesore.

(RNS) For more than a week, Simeon Momanyi has worked to strike a balance between abiding by law enforcement and ministering to protesters decrying racism and police brutality. It’s a complex task: Kenyan Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he serves as pastor, is adjacent to a police precinct in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where protests have flared following the death of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man who was shot and killed by an officer earlier this month.
Local families are invited to attend the open house to learn more about Girl Scouts.
Local service members, veterans, firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and health care workers are also invited to attend Saturday s event to pick up free donated Girl Scout Cookies as part of Operation: Cookie Drop, a council-wide service project.
Girl Scouts of Central Indiana recently relocated all membership field staff to 24 coworking spaces throughout central Indiana, according to a release This new model will help membership staff get out into the communities they serve to better support girls, families and volunteers, the release stated.
Girl Scouts is open to all girls from kindergarten through grade 12. Adults over the age of 18 can volunteer. Financial assistance is available. To join, visit girlscoutsindiana.org/join
