Pope meets with Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino

VATICAN CITY: On Monday morning at the Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis received in audience the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino, Alessandro Cardelli and Mirko Dolcini. Afterward, the Captains Regent also met with Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Secretary for Relations with States. A statement from the Holy See Press Office on Monday said that during the discussions “satisfaction was expressed for the fruitful cooperation between the Holy See and the Republic of San Marino.” The discussions also included “some issues of common interest concerning the international scenario” such as relations with Europe and the prospects of multilateral diplomacy.
