The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call from Martin County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, April 12, 2021, requesting KSP’s assistance regarding the investigation of possible human remains found in the Tomahawk community of Martin County.
KSP investigators responded to a residence on South Milo Road where they located what appeared to be possible human remains in a wooded area behind the residence. The area was secured until additional investigators could return during daylight hours to conduct a secondary search. The Martin County Coroner will transport the remains to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, KY for possible identification.

CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police are asking for the public’s help in an effort to solve a slaying in Knox County.
Anyone with information in the death of Adam Pinkley, 34, is asked to contact the state police post in Harlan, officials said in a statement this week.
Pinkley‘s remains were found in the Gray community of Knox County in December 2018 by a teenager riding an all-terrain vehicle, police said. The remains were later identified by the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort. Police said that based on evidence collected by investigators, Pinkley was killed around May 31, 2018.
Kentucky State Police are seeking the public’s help in looking for person suspected in a murder that took place nearly three years ago.
In early December 2018, KSP Post 10 in Harlan got a call from Knox County Dispatch after human remains were found.
Police say a 15-year-old boy on a four-wheeler in a wooded area off of Garland Cemetery Road when he came across the remains.
They were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification and a cause of death. KSP has since found out that the remains belonged to 34-year-old Adam Pinkley.
Pinkley had been reported missing in June 2018 to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office. Based on collected evidence, police believe Pinkley was murdered on or around May 31, 2018. He had ties to Knox, Laurel, and Whitley Counties.

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. A teenager riding his four-wheeler in the woods made a discovery that may help solve a 2018 murder in Kentucky.
In December of 2018, according to Kentucky State Police (KSP), the 15-year-old was riding in a wooded area off Garland Cemetery Rd. in the Gray community of Knox County, Kentucky, when he found human remains.
He contacted authorities, and the KSP responded to the area to begin an investigation. The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification and to determine how the person died.

Although her murder is thought to have taken place in October of 2019, the homicide investigation of Ella Jackson has carried on throughout 2020, making it The Richmond Registerâs fourth top story this year.
Ella Jackson was first reported missing in late October 2019, leaving behind her phone, wallet, car and then five-year-old son.
On April 24, 2020, Richmond police arrested her husband, Glenn Jackson, 40, for her murder, as well as tampering with physical evidence.
According to a release from RPD, investigators discovered that Ella Jackson met with a domestic violence advocate a few days before her disappearance. A search warrant was subsequently executed on the residence and vehicles belonging to the couple.
