About the Occupations In-Demand subcategory
This sub-category is for highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, who do not yet have a job offer in the province.
In order to apply for Canadian immigration through this sub-category, foreign nationals need to create an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system.
Saskatchewan’s EOI system allows the province to select immigration candidates that have the potential to thrive in the prairie province. Candidates will be assessed on how their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province demonstrate their ability to settle in Saskatchewan.
The province has now invited 3,531 immigration candidates in 2021.
Invited candidates have 30 calendar days to apply for the nomination.
About the Tech Pilot
The BC PNP Tech Pilot is a fast-track Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for in-demand tech workers and international students. Candidates need to be registered in one of B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams and have a valid job offer of at least 12 months in one of the Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible occupations.
To apply for the Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC categories candidates must first create a profile through the BC PNP’s online portal and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Also, the province had different Expression of Interest (EOI) score requirements depending on whether invited candidates were invited through strategic recruitment initiatives, or if they already had an Express Entry profile.
Here are the results of the new MPNP draw:
30 candidates invited under a strategic recruitment initiative with an EOI score of at least 703; and
369 candidates invited under a strategic recruitment initiative with an EOI score of at least 708.
Express Entry candidates will only be eligible to receive the provincial nomination if their profile is still valid when the MPNP assesses their application. All invited candidates have 60 days from when they receive their Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) to apply for the provincial nomination.

Canada held a new Express Entry draw, inviting candidates who had scores of at least 417 points on Friday April 16, 2021.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 6,000 Canadian Experience Class candidates to apply for permanent residence in the new invitation round. IRCC issued 1,000 more invitations compared to the previous CEC-only draw and the score requirement was 15 points less than the last draw.
The draw was a rare Friday evening one, right before the weekend in Canada. Express Entry draws usually take place during the week to give immigration candidates and their representatives more time to prepare their permanent residence applications.
It was also the second-largest draw in Express Entry’s history. The three largest draw sizes have all occured within the last few months as IRCC has increased draw sizes to compensate for the decline in immigration to Canada in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The previous record was 5,000 permanent residence in
