In the 45th official year of Black History Month, Utah s national parks and federal lands organizations are celebrating the huge contributions by African Americans to our public lands, past and present. While no park is holding in-person events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, almost every park and organization has commemorated fundamental and significant Black figures on their social media channels. African Americans have shaped many aspects of this country s history, and Utah National Parks are no exception, Arches National Park spokesperson Angela Richman wrote in an email.  It is important that we share and highlight stories of all the people who have had an influence on preserving and sharing our public lands.
