Hastings District Council’s ground-breaking
collaborative approach to addressing the district’s
critical housing shortage has been recognised with a
national award.
Last night, the council received the
BERL Award for Collaborative Government Action for its Place
Based Housing Solution at the Taituarā – Local Government
Professionals Aotearoa Awards.
The award recognised
the outstanding results that had been achieved through the
combined efforts of government agencies, mana whenua,
community support groups working on the coalface to address
housing needs in the community, and council.

Last night, the council received the BERL Award for Collaborative Government Action for its Place Based Housing Solution at the Taituarā – Local Government Professionals Aotearoa Awards.

Hawke s Bay District Health Board has treated 116 children with injuries related to suspected physical or sexual abuse in the past five years. The statistics revealed to the Hawke s Bay Today in an Official Information Act response show the DHB saw six cases of suspected sexual or physical abuse in children aged 0 to 17 in the first two months of the year alone.

Walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics for healthcare workers are due to begin this week in Hawke s Bay.
The Hawke s Bay District Health Board said vaccinations of long-term aged care residents are also due to begin this week as part of the sequencing of the national vaccine rollout plan.
Following this, the HBDHB will offer walk-in clinics for the healthcare workforce who are yet receive a vaccine.
